Alberobello is a small town located in the southern part of Italy in the Metropolitan city of Bari, Apulia. The town has become popular among tourists, characterized by numerous stone cone-roofed houses called trulli. “Trulli” is a small hut like structure with conical roofs and dry-stone walls built with local limestone. The town is listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site and makes an interesting destination for travellers.
Climate:Warm and hot, with a lot of rainfall. Light clothes during daytime can be worn while you can add jackets for the evenings. Do carry something for the rains.

By Train: From Bari airport take a shuttle bus to reach the railway station. The train will take around one and half hour to reach Alberobello

Trullo Suvrano is the only two floored trullo, built by a wealthy priest’s family in the 18th century. Now, it has been redesigned as a museum that reflects trullo life with rounded rooms inside representing a bedroom, bakery and kitchen. You can know more about the town from the souvenir shop which has lot of literature about the town and the surrounding areas. The place has been declared as a National Monument due its peculiar architecture.
Parrocchia Santuario Basilica S.S Cosma E Damiano

The Patron Saints church has statues of two saints St. Cosmas and St. Damian. This wonderful Church has a tripartite structure with the arches, doorways and aisles drawing the number three, a representation of the Holy Trinity. The impressive look of the Church dominates the main street and the beautiful surrounding houses.

Museo del Territorio

The museum also known as ‘House Pezzolla’ as it belonged to a doctor of the same name, is made up of modest sized tulli that have alcoves or fireplaces and much more. The museum aims to educate and raise awareness not only about the material, artistic and architectural treasures, but also about the rich inheritance, history, folk traditions and culture of the place. Exhibitions and other events are organized to showcase the rich past and harmonize it with the present. The Museum is continuously engaged in an effort to preserve as well as promote the history of Alberobello, especially after it was recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1996 due to the presence of extraordinary structures called trulli. A visit to the Museum helps to understand the typical interiors and décor as well as the architectural features of the trulli.
