Berlin is the most happening, complete and contemporary city.  The capital of Germany, it has been burned to the ashes many times but it came back to life stronger than ever as a phoenix. Situated on the banks of Rivers Spree and Havel, it was divided into two halves by the Berlin Wall which was demolished uniting the great city once again. Climate: Maritime temperate climate. March to May are Spring months with mild to cold temperature but still requiring warm clothes. June to August are summer months, warmer but not at all hot. Light clothes with layering and something warm for the evenings will do. Carry something for the rain. September to November are cooler with temperatures dropping as the fall season ends. Slightly warm clothes required. Winters from December to February are cold needing very warm clothes.

This majestic building is the true representative of the history of Germany which attracts a lot of people with its architectural beauty and historic importance. Its Glass dome is a nice place to get a nice view of the city from the top. Admission to the Reichstag is free, audio and visual will make your tour to the Reichstag more informative and easy to understand its history. You can know about the working of the parliament and see the nearby buildings while going up and coming down. Besides, you can always visit and have a great lunch at the famous Roof top restaurant.

Brandenburg Gate

This neoclassical style impressive landmark of Berlin is situated in the center of the city , although it was supposed to be as symbol of peace, it took a heavy toll of war damage and had to be restored. Its famous four horses driving the chariot “the quadriga” look spectacular at night. It is used for many celebrations and important public gatherings, for visitors, it is a symbol of Berlin and many like to take a photograph here. While visiting the Gate, you can take a short break at the “Raum der Stille”, the room of silence on the northern side and also see the Academy of arts and the restored American embassy.

Museum Island

Location: Spree river in the central Mitte district

This UNESCO world heritage site dedicated to art and science, is a name given to the northern part of the island located in the Spree river. It consist of five world class museums- the Pergamon Museum, Bode Museum, AlteNationalgalerie, Neues Museum and the Altes Museum. The museum island has so much to offer with its sheer beauty surrounded with water and its design and a lot of information. These display Greek and Roman era artifacts, paintings, sculptures including Egyptian art. The visit is mesmerizing taking you on an archeological tour from the past to present of European and near east cultures.

Berlin Wall memorial

Location: Bernauer Str. Berlin

Timings: 8 am to 10 pm all days

The Berlin wall divided the city for 30 years and on November 9, 1989 the people of Berlin had enough of hate and division and brought it down. The scene of the fall of Berlin wall has become a symbol of change and freedom around the world. There are still some remains and traces of “the wall of shame” where so many people were killed. The Berlin Wall Memorial located in Bernauer Strasse is a representation of those horrific times. The remains of the wall still have a watchtower and border strip. The visitors pay their tribute to the countless people who lost their lives here.

Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe

Location:Cora-Berliner-Straße  Berlin

Timings: Tuesday to Sunday: 10 am to 8 pm ,Monday: closed
