How to reach Inca Trail:
By Air: The Inca Trail is a trip to Machu Picchu, one of the world’s most famous pilgrimage and an exotic adventure in itself. The classic trail begins at Cusco. The Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport located only 10 minutes away serves Cusco. There are also daily flights from Lima and back. From here you can take a cab to the town. You can also fly to Lima in Peru from all the major countries of the world. There are non-stop flights daily to Jorge Chavez International Airport in Lima. From here, you can go by flight or a bus or rent a car to go to Cusco. The Classic 4 day Inca Trail starts from KM82 and the Short Inca Trail starts from KM104 in Cusco.
On entering Peru, you will be given a tourist card, which is also called ‘Tarjeta Andena de Migracion’ (Andrean Migration Card), which you will have to stick to your passport. Take care not to lose it.
Domestic Flights: Regular flights are available from Lima to Cusco. From here, you can go to the starting point of the trail by bus or car.
By Train: Trains are available from Cusco to Machu Picchu. Cusco Tram is also operational.
