There are many places to visit in Jaipur like Hawa Mahal, City Palace, Jal Mahal, Amer Fort, Naharghar Fort, temples and many more. Rajasthan is also famous for its food and spices. Special Rajasthani dishes like Dal baati churma, Gatte ki sabzi, Missi and bajre ki roti make a perfect dine for tourists. Jaipur has very high ranking in most of the tourist surveys, ranking as one of the most visited cities in Asia and as one of the best places to visit in Asia. This is an ideal place for those who like to visit forts and old palaces.

Climate: Winter season (November to March) is very pleasant to visit and walk around the city. In winters, the temperature lies between 10–15 °C. Summers are very hot in Jaipur and the temperature reaches up to 45°C.

Accessibility

Jaipur is the capital of Rajasthan and has very good connectivity both nationally and internationally. It is approx 260 km from Delhi and around 240 km from Agra.

By Road- Luxury buses available to connect with all major cities and states nearby like Uttar Pradesh, Haryana etc.

By Rail- Being a head quarter of one of the railway zone, Jaipur has train connectivity from all over India.

By Air: Jaipur has international airport that hosts flights from all over the country. It has regular flights from Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Kolkata.

Amer Fort

Location- around 12 km from Jaipur

This fort is famous for its unique design made from sandstone and marble. This place has famous court rooms Diwan-i-Khas and Diwan-i-aam. Jaighar fort is also close to Amer fort. It was a residence of Rajput Maharajas. This fort comes under the list of UNESCO world heritage sites and is known for its magnificent relief work and frescoed panels and arches. The alluring inlay work and mirrored ceilings make a spectacular sight. Around 1.5 to 2 million tourists visit this place in a year.

Hawa Mahal

Hawa mahal is the official symbol of Jaipur and very famous tourist destination. This is a very old structure built in 1799 with red and pink sandstone. It has around 953 Jharokhas (small windows) and a five storey building. This honeycomb like structure was built for the ladies to get a view of the numerous processions going across the street. The top of the fort offers a fantastic view of the Jantar Mantar and City Palace and on the other way, a view of the Siredeori Bazaar.  

City Palace

City palace is in the centre of Jaipur and a famous tourist destination. It has Mubarak Mahal, Chandra Mahal and other buildings that are a part of the very big palace complex. The City palace was the residence of Royal kings and still some royal families live here. The main buildings of the city place are Diwan-E-khas, Diwan-i-Aam, Maharani Palace, Bhaggi khana etc. The ornately designed walls and gates of the palace adorned with beautiful mirrors, murals and lattice in Mughal style make a spectacular view.

Govind Dev Ji Temple

Location- Inside city

Best Time to visit – Early November to February

Govind Dev Ji is a very famous Lord Krishna temple situated in the City Palace complex. The statue or the deity was brought here from Vrindavan by Raja Sawai Jai Singh. The temple is surrounded by beautiful gardens. People from Hindu religion have very high faith in this temple and millions of devotees visit this temple this every year.

Jal Mahal

Location- Inside Jaipur

Best Time to visit – Early November to February

This palace is in the middle of Man Sagar Lake. It is a very old palace but renovation has changed the complete look of the place. It looks very beautiful when the lake is full of water and the palace lights are switched on. People visit the palace for its enchanting looks and take home mesmerizing memories.
