Catania is located on the Eastern coast of Sicily, at the foot of Mount Etna.
How to reach:
By Air: The International airport in Catania is the Catania-Fontanarrosa International Airport, which is just about 46 km from Mount Etna. It has many flights arriving from Italy and Europe.
From the airport, the best option is to take a rental car to go to Mount Etna.
By Train: The railway station in Catania is just 10 minutes away from the city centre, by foot. Many trains run to and fro from Taormina, Messina, Enna, Palermo and Syracuse. From the railway station, you can easily go to Mount Etna on foot.
By Bus: The main bus station in Catania is opposite the railway station and is 10 minutes away from the city centre. It is connected to many parts of Sicily.
By Ferry: Many ferries travel to and fro to Catania from the mainland Italy, Naples, Genova, Civitavecchia, Valletta and Malta.
