How to reach:
By Air: The nearest International Airport to Cherry Springs State Park is Philadelphia International Airport, which is about 257 miles away from the park.
From the airport, you can take a shared ride, shuttle bus, taxis or rental car to go to the Park.
By Train: Pennsylvania Railway Station is the main railway station, which is served mainly by Amtrak and is about 262 miles away from the Park. After getting down at the station, take a taxi, bus, shared ride or rental car to reach the Park.
By Road: Pennsylvania is well connected by road to other parts of USA.
Best time to visit: May to October.
Take care that when you visit the park for star gazing, the moon is dark or is just a sliver. There should not be full moon, as at that time, the moon is so bright that the stars cannot be seen. The weather should not be very stormy or cloudy.

Essential Gear: Take a jacket or a blanket along with you, as it may get a bit cold at night. Also, you will need a flashlight with a red lens or take a flashlight with a regular lens with red cellophane and a rubber band.
You will get a telescope at the park to watch the stars. There are 3 Observation Domes in the park, which the astronomers can use at rent. The park staff and some volunteers also run free public programs for star gazing.
