By Air: After landing at the nearest International Airport- the Cape Town International Airport, take a taxi, shuttle, bus or rental car to reach SAAO, which is about 14 km away.
By Train: Metrorail Western Cape provides its commuter and suburban rail services all over and around Cape Town.
By Bus: Many bus services like Greyhound and SA Roadlink and many others provide their services to Cape Town connecting it to Maputo, Lusaka, Johannesburg and many other places.
Best time to visit: SAAO is open for visitors every month, on second and fourth Saturday, at 8:00 p.m.
