Some resorts may offer transport facilities to and from Reno Airport, you can check while booking. The South Lake Tahoe Airport or the Truckee-Tahoe Airport is also an option for private pilots.
By Train: You can take the California Zephyr by Amtrak that has stops in Truckee and enjoy the scenic beauty on the way.
By Road: Bus services are available to Truckee which are a viable option considering the traffic.
