How to Reach:
By Air: Zurich (248 km) and Geneva (244 km) Airports are the nearest airports with several International flights. Zermatt is 3 hours drive from both the airports. You can also use Sion, Bern and Basel Airports for Intra-Europe travel.
By Train: You can travel to Zermatt via Swiss rail network from the nearby cities and Geneva and Zurich airports. There are private operators too but tickets are sold through the Swiss Federal Railway. Trains are the only option to travel to Zermatt since it is an auto free zone.
By Road: Buses, self driven cars and rented cars are available but only up to nearby Tasch village since Zermatt is auto free zone and the remaining 7 km can be covered by train. Zermatt is only 3 and half hours from Geneva, 4 and half hours from Zurich and only 4 hours from Milan, Italy by road.
Best Time to Visit: December – May for winter skiing and June – November for summer skiing.
