This island is famous for its quite beaches, snorkeling and other water activities. There is no commercial activity like restaurants and hotels permitted here. That is why it gives you ultimate privacy and has also preserved the virginity of this place. Its crystal clear water is full of different varieties of fishes. You can see many of them on the boat ride to the islands. It is a good place to get a nice tan on, soak up the sun or you can swim in the clear water. Do not forget to take along water, a sun hat, shades, eatables, drinks and a bag for your litter, when you go to the island, as this place is a strictly nature reserve area.

The Strait has got its name from the Bonifacio town. The 11 kms Strait divides the French Island of Corsica from the Italian Island of Sardinia. The Strait has been a major concern for the sailors because of the various obstacles it presents and has been a major cause of various accidents. It faces a continuous threat from the sea traffic and increasing tourism, as it is the habitat of many sea creatures which are responsible in maintaining the balance of the ecosystem.

Probably the oldest church and located in the heart of the city, this 13th century historic church is an example of phenomenon architecture made of granite. You will be intrigued to see the exotic roof paintings, which look marvelous. Do not miss this ancient National Heritage when you visit Bonifacio. Although it had been damaged over the time, a recent renovation has made it look even more spectacular. The entry here is free. You will be astounded to see the Renaissance baptismal font, the white marble Roman Sarcophagus and the 14th century Bell Tower, which rises up to 82 feet.

Cavallo

Location: Between Corsica and Sardinia

Cavallo Island is the second name of luxury. This tiny island in the Mediterranean Sea separates Corsica from Sardinia. In the past, the prisoners from the Rome were sent to Cavallo Island to cut the granite, which was used to make the Roman Monuments. Eglise Saint-Dominique de Bonifacio

Also known as the church of Saint Dominic, this church is located in the South of Corsica and is the largest church on the island. It displays exotic items and beauteous pictures of the life events relating to Christianity. The environment of the beautiful Church is quiet and peaceful.
