Night Safari is the first of its kind in the world, a zoo for nocturnal animals. Opened in 1994, it is functional at night. It is home to about 2,500 animals that include over 130 species, of which 38% are endangered. This zoo that is spread across 35 hectares can be explored on foot, walking trails or by tram. The zoo is open during the night as the animals rome about freely without fear at night and this also gives a fair chance to spot the animals. Another unique thing about this zoo is the animals are separated by natural barriers so that they feel more at home. The zoo has been trying to contribute to conservation of wildlife by helping many threatened species to breed in its safe environment. The visitors can easily view these animals such as Malayan Tigers, Asian lions and many more.
